Hail’s Story

Hi there, I'm Hayley, 36 years old, mum to two little girls, a registered nurse and the founder of Hail Crystals.

For most of my career, I worked in emergency medicine. It was intense, fast-paced, and deeply fulfilling. Later, I moved into skin health and cosmetic nursing, where I continued to do what I’ve always done best, care for others. But somewhere along the way, I realised I had lost touch with myself. I had spent so much time looking after everyone else, I didn’t know what I needed anymore.

Becoming a mum changed everything. As beautiful as motherhood is, it’s also raw, confronting, and all-consuming. Like many women, I found myself in that familiar space, utterly devoted to my family, yet quietly grieving the parts of me I had put on hold, struggling with postpartum life and feeling lost and alone in this new phase of life. I was desperately searching for something that would help me feel connected again… to myself.

Around that time, I started collecting crystals. At first, it was their natural beauty that drew me in, their colours, textures, the feeling of holding something so beautiful that was formed by the Earth. But as time passed, they became more than just beautiful objects. They reminded me to pause, to breathe, to come back to myself. In those quiet moments, crystals became little anchors in my day, nudging me toward presence and self.

I’d always imagined pursuing something in business, likely still within the medical world, but life had other plans. When that pathway fell away, I decided to take a chance on something completely different. I combined my love for hard work, creativity, and connection and in June 2024, Hail Crystals was born.

The name Hail Crystals holds a deeply personal meaning. “Hail” was a nickname lovingly used by my late Nan, and it’s a gentle nod to my own name, Hayley. But it also reflects the natural beauty and power of hail itself, like clear quartz, one of my all-time favourite crystals, it’s pure, strong, and striking in its simplicity. Just as clear quartz is known for its clarity and amplification, the name Hail felt like the perfect representation of both my personal journey and the intention behind the crystals I share.

With no background in business and no idea what to expect, I started showing up online. I shared what I was learning, what I loved, and the crystals that were helping me heal. Slowly, people began to find me. I still remember my first few orders, placed by beautiful people who are now not just customers, but friends. Some of them have shopped with me every single week since that very beginning. I’ll never forget that feeling.

This little business has become so much more than I imagined. It’s been a space for healing, not just for others, but for me too. It’s helped me rebuild my confidence, reconnect with my purpose, and rediscover myself on the other side of motherhood. At its heart, Hail Crystals is about care. It’s about reminding each other we’re not alone. It’s about creating moments of stillness, intention, and beauty, one crystal piece at a time.

I’m ambitious, and I have big dreams for this business. I’m dreaming of in-person events, of bringing custom original designed products to life, and of continuing to grow a strong, connected community of like-minded people who believe in living with intention.

But I also know that all good things take time. So, I’m here, building slowly, loving the journey, and feeling so grateful for every single person I meet along the way.
